Angela Baker was the survivor of a horrible boating accident which claimed the life of her father and severely traumatized her twin brother. Peter assumed Angela's personality and lived the rest of his life as Angela. However, it is later revealed that she survived the accident and she returns as the main antagonist of Return to Sleepaway Camp.
Background
Angela and Peter grew up with their father, John, and were close to their cousin, Ricky. John's lover, Lenny, had a strong presence in the household.
As a young child, Angela and Peter spied on their father in the arms of Lenny. This led to their first realization of gender awareness.
Films
Sleepaway Camp (1983)
In 1975, Angela and her family enjoyed a summer picnic on a lake while they waited to visit Aunt Martha. Angela and Peter goofed around on their boat, capsizing them and their father. Before they could get out of the water, a speedboat, piloted by careless teenagers Craig and Maryanne, accidentally ran them over, killing John and injuring Peter.
Return to Sleepaway Camp (2008)
28 years later in 2003, Angela somehow managed to survive the incident and she staged a broken-down car site to attract a cop's attention. She tricked the officer under the car, allowing her to crush his head with the vehicle. She used the cop's car and uniform to disguise herself as Sheriff Jerry, where she infiltrated Camp Manabe under the pretense of giving an anti-drug speech to the campers. Throughout the course of the film, she murders anyone that bullied Alan, making everyone believe Alan's responsible (Except Ronnie because he knew it was Angela). Towards the end, she reveals her true identity while making a speech about how cruel her victims were to Alan. She also reveals that she skinned Michael as punishment for skinning and kicking some of Alan's frogs, being part of a prank that had people see Alan in his underwear, beating him up and nearly killing him.
Character
Even though they are twins, Angela and Peter are introduced as opposites. She is outspoken while he is more withdrawn. This is a clue that the silent "Angela" seen throughout the film is in fact Peter. This would also implicate that the Angela seen in Return to Sleepaway Camp is not Peter.
Behind the Scenes
- The revelation that Angela died and Peter survived the boating accident is a major plot twist of the first Sleepaway Camp.
- In a Behind the Scenes featurette for Return to Sleepaway Camp it is revealed that she survives and she is the one who committed the murders of Return to Sleepaway Camp. While some fans believed they may have been joking, Felissa Rose later confirmed on Twitter that it was indeed true.[3]
