Michael J. Pollard is a very successful character actor who has appeared in film, television, and stage since the late 1950's. He worked in such popular TV series as Star Trek, Alfred Hitchcock Presents, The Andy Griffith Show, The Lucy Show, Gunsmoke, The Fall Guy, Simon & Simon, Blosson, Tales From The Crypt, Wings, and Becker. He has also worked on popular films, including Dick Tracy, House of A 1000 Corpses, and Roxanne. Sleepaway Camp III director Michael A. Simpson liked him so much that he cast him again in Fast Food.

Among his theater work was the original Broadway production of Bye Bye Birdie, which starred Dick Van Dyke, Chita Rivera, Paul Lynde, and Dick Gauthier.

Actor Michael J. Fox chose his middle initial after Michael J. Pollard because he admired him so.
